🌟 Working Together to Shape Adult Social Care in South Tyneside
At South Tyneside Council, we believe that one of the best ways to improve our Adult Social Care services is by listening to the people who use them.
That’s why we work closely with a dedicated group of volunteers who bring their lived experiences to the table to help us shape the future of care in our community.
Meet the Working Together Group
Our Working Together Group is made up of passionate individuals from across South Tyneside. Since the launch of our Living Better Lives Strategy in 2022, this group has played a vital role in co-producing and improving the services we offer.
The strategy is built around a simple but powerful vision:
“People in South Tyneside living in the place they call home, with the people and things they love, in communities where people look out for one another, doing things that matter to them.”
To bring this vision to life, we’ve set out six key objectives—and the Working Together Group has been instrumental in helping us deliver on them.
What Have We Achieved Together?
So far this year, the group has helped co-design and shape several important projects, including:
- 📝 A brand-new carers assessment
- 🗣️ Clearer information for our Let’s Talk Team Hubs
- 🏥 A redraft of our hospital discharge information
- 💌 A consultation letter about care contributions
- 🎥 A powerful video on safeguarding, created from the group’s own views, to be shared at a Safeguarding Development Day
Want to Get Involved?
We’re always looking to grow our group and welcome new voices. If you have lived experience with Adult Social Care and want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
The Working Together Group meets monthly, and it’s a great opportunity to share your ideas, meet others, and help shape services that truly work for our community.
