Health and Wellbeing Strategy

Our Better Health and Wellbeing Strategy is the go-to plan for how we are tackling the big health and wellbeing issues in South Tyneside.

A joint health and wellbeing strategy is a mandatory requirement for a local area.

It should be clear in its ambition, and focussed on the big issues in the population that can only be tackled through collective action and a willingness to continuously improve health and wellbeing.

Our Better Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets this out for South Tyneside.

Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan

This publication is the Age Friendly Communities Strategy and Action Plan 2024 to 2028.

It provides a framework to help make the borough a great place to grow old and an area in which everyone, regardless of age, is valued and respected.

The action plan also outlines activity that the Council and local organisations will carry out to support this.
