NHS Health Check profile (quarterly statistics)

In March 2026 NHS Health Check Quarter 3 2025-26 data was published to the Fingertips NHS Health Check profile.

  • The percentage of NHS Health Checks offered to the total eligible population in South Tyneside was 3.0%.
  • This was significantly lower than the national percentage of 5.4% and the regional percentage of 5.5%.
  • The percentage of NHS Health Checks received by the total eligible population in South Tyneside was 1.4%
  • This was significantly lower than the national and regional percentages which was both 1.8%
  • The percentage of NHS Health Checks offered which were taken up in the quarter in South Tyneside was 47%.
  • This was significantly higher than the national percentage of 34% and the regional percentage of 33%.

Stop Smoking Services Quarterly data

In March 2026 the stop smoking services Q2 2025/26 data was released on the NHS digital website.

Smokers that have quit at 4 weeks (quarterly)

  • In South Tyneside this was 55.2%.
  • This was not significantly different from the regional percentage of 53.0% or the national percentage of 51.8%.
  • This does remain significantly higher than where South Tyneside was a year ago in Q2 of 2024/25 where this was 47%.

Pregnant client quit percentage

  • In South Tyneside this was 37.5%. This hasn’t changed since Q1 where this was also 37.5%.
  • This is not significantly different from the regional percentage of 36% but remains significantly lower than the national percentage at 53.3%.
